LIVE UPDATES: Metres left to dig in rescue effort, as miners push towards trapped boy

After 13 days of rescue efforts, the body of the toddler was finally found in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Julen's parents embrace each other during a vigil as a miner rescuer team descends into a drilled well at the area where Julen, a Spanish two-year-old boy, fell into a deep well 11 days ago when the family was taking a stroll through a private estate, in Totalan, southern Spain.

The family of Julen who was found dead in a well following a 13-day rescue operation are mourning his loss ahead of his funeral tomorrow (Picture: MEGA) Rescue workers had been working round-the-clock to reach Julen Rosello, who fell down a narrow 10-inch hole on January 13 as his parents prepared lunch in Totalan, Malaga.

The latest news comes a little more than a week after rescuers found "biological traces" of Julen inside the well.

Julen Rosello fell down the narrow 110-meter-deep borehole on January 13 while his family was preparing a countryside Sunday lunch.

He offered his condolences to the family, as did Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, who said the country shares the "infinite sadness" felt by Julen's family. The child had cardiac problems. We have closely followed each step to get to him.

Spain has been gripped by the complex search-and-rescue operation fraught with technical difficulties that caused delay upon delay as Julen's distraught parents and relatives stood by.

Microsoft says Bing search engine now blocked in China
Google shut down its search engine in China in 2010, after rows with the authorities over censorship and hacking. Bing was the only major foreign search engine accessible from within China's so-called Great Firewall .

Jorge Martin, a spokesman with the Malaga province Civil Guard, says a fourth controlled explosion was needed to complete the last 45 centimeters of a 3.8-meter-long horizontal tunnel mining experts have been digging since Thursday.

The only sign of the toddler found so far is hair that matched his DNA, but officials have refused to comment on whether he could have survived so long.

But the tubes created to secure the shaft did not fit, so they had to widen it, which delayed the operation still further.

The tunnel is some 70-meters underground, and a vertical shaft had to be drilled over the past few days to bring miners and rescue experts up and down during the painstaking engineering feat.

The miners worked in teams of two and were equipped with oxygen tanks.

A post-mortem was carried out on Saturday, the results of which will be communicated to the judge investigating the case.
