Just a few moments later, news came down the wire stating that the Bulls would be waiving MarShon Brooks along with their new acquisition.

Monday was a big day for a portion of the National Basketball Association because it is the last day teams can waive players with non-guaranteed contracts before committing to paying them for the full season.

Carter-Williams has since had stops in Milwaukee, Chicago and Charlotte, his role and production diminishing with each stop.

Dolphins interview Saints’ Allen for head coaching job
New Orleans Saints defensive coordinator Dennis Allen is the third candidate to interview for the Miami Dolphins' coaching job. The Jets spoke with Gase on Friday after interviewing Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy in Kansas City on Wednesday.

Chicago reacquiring Carter-Williams now shouldn't cause as many waves.

The Bulls will waive Carter-Williams, whose contract would've become guaranteed for the season on Monday afternoon, league sources said. Presumably, Houston covered that amount plus paid the Bulls extra for their troubles.

The well-traveled Michael Carter Williams is on the move again, but he can't get comfortable in his new (old) home. He struggled with Houston, which found a better alternative in Austin Rivers.
