Budget airline Ryanair has been voted the worst airline by passengers for the sixth consecutive year.

When the 7,901 participants were asked if there were any airlines they would never travel with, 70 per cent named Ryanair.

The airline scored just 40% from it's customer score, with passengers gave the airline the lowest possible rating for boarding, seat comfort, food and drink, and cabin environment.

British Airways continued to struggle for approval, finishing 15th out of 19 carriers, while easyJet came 11th.

Other names at the bottom of the ranking for short-haul flights were Thomas Cook Airlines (52 per cent), Wizz Air (54 per cent), Vueling Airlines (54 per cent) and British Airways (56 per cent).

When Ryanair said it would refuse to pay the travel costs for its customers on rival airlines so they could complete their journeys, as it is obliged to do under European Union legislation on rerouting passengers, the Civil Aviation Authority had to step in and force the airline to back down.

Ryanair faced strike action in 2018, cancelled flights but refused to offer passengers compensation and introduced new baggage rules three times.

Bolsonaro open to USA military base in Brazil
Justice minister Sergio Moro ordered the deployment after reports in Brazilian media showed gangs torching service stations. Former Brazilian national security secretary Jose Vicente da Silva believes such a base could be advantageous.

One customer answered: 'There are too many rules.

The top five were Guernsey-based Aurigny Air Service, Swiss Airlines, Jet2, Norwegian and Dutch carrier KLM.

The airline made three changes to its baggage policies previous year, with one passenger telling Which?: "There are too many rules".

However, independent aviation consultant Chris Tarry said, despite the low satisfaction ratings, customers were still happy enough to fly with the Irish budget carrier. I worry about getting caught with hidden costs'.

A Ryanair spokeswoman said the research did not take into account the cost of fares - which is "the single most important factor for United Kingdom consumers" - and described it as "totally unrepresentative" compared with its 141 million annual passengers. Travel editor Rory Boland.

"Increasingly you need a calculator to work out what the final bill will be, especially with Ryanair".

A Ryanair spokesperson told the Sun: "The survey of nearly 8,000 Which? members is totally unrepresentative and worthless compared to Ryanair's 141m customers", adding that "Ryanair is Europe's No. 1 airline with the lowest fares, with an average fare of just €39, a fraction of the high fares charged by Which's "recommended" airlines". "They should switch to one of their rivals, who prove that budget prices don't have to mean budget service".
