CES is always an auspicious time to announce upcoming computers but a lot of them seem to be targeted at high-end computing, be it for gaming or production.

LAS VEGAS-Samsung took the wraps off a trio of new laptops at CES this week, but the most intriguing is not the sleek ultraportable Notebook 9 Pro or the tricked-out Odyssey gaming rig, but the $349 Notebook Flash, a unique and cheerful laptop inspired by the design of typewriters.

Samsung isn't the first name that comes to mind when you think PC gaming, but the South Korean manufacturer is hoping to change that with its brand-new Samsung Odyssey gaming laptop. Samsung doesn't sell IT products locally, so you'll have to import the Notebook Odyssey from overseas if it tickles your fancy.

On the inside, the Notebook 9 Pro is packed with Intel's 8th Gen Core i7-8565U processor, 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of NVMe PCIe SSD storage.

Amazon eclipses Microsoft as most valuable US company
Market capitalization is determined by multiplying a company's share price by the number of shares it has outstanding. The retailer hit a $1 trillion valuation once last September, but fell below the mark after markets' close.

At the same time, however, the Notebook 9 Pro won't look out of place in the office. Its silver aluminium finish looks and feels premium, especially around the diamond-cut edges.

Samsung was also showing off the Notebook Flash at CES, and announced that this affordable laptop will be launching in the USA on January 15.

That's not to say that the Notebook Flash is all just show. Inside, you'll be able to choose from either Intel Celeron N4000 or Intel Pentium Silver N5000 processors, both of which are available with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of eMMC storage. It offers fingerprint-scanner login, runs on the Windows 10 Home operating system and comes with the Active Pen included in the box which offers more than 4,000 levels of pressure sensitivity. And what it lacks in muscle, it makes up for the price tag.

The Samsung Notebook Odyssey will be up for grabs, starting the USA in early 2019, followed by Korea, China, and other select regions. The Samsung Notebook 9 Pro will come later this year though Samsung has yet to put a price on it.
