Teams starting to dream of Kristaps Porzingis slipping away from Knicks

While there is a strong belief that the Knicks and Porzingis will agree to a long-term deal at season's end, The Ringer's Kevin O'Connor reports that the San Antonio Spurs have shown "significant interest" in making a play for the 23-year old star.

New York Knicks franchise cornerstone Kristaps Porzingis is set to become a restricted free agent next Summer and there are several teams closely monitoring his situation with the team.

However, the All-Star big man has had a rocky relationship with the organization during his four-year career and he may be looking for a change of scenery if the right offer comes in.

NY originally selected Porzingis with the fourth pick in the 2015 draft. The Knicks will hold on to Porzingis so long as they offer him a max contract or match one offered by another team.

Amazon becomes most valuable company, moving past Microsoft
Shares of Microsoft, which claimed the title of the world's most valuable stock in November , rose 0.1 per cent on Monday. Shares of the e-commerce company rose 3.4 percent, a rally that gave it a market capitalization of $797 billion.

Porzingis, who is still recovering from a torn ACL, has yet to make his season debut during the 2018-2019 season. Creating enough space below the cap to sign Porzingis would likely decimate the current talent on the roster to get below the cap. If the Latvian big man wants out of NY, the Spurs won't be the only team interested in landing a player who averaged 17.8 points, 7.1 rebounds and 2 blocks per game in the first three seasons of his National Basketball Association career.

The Brooklyn Nets have also previously been mentioned as a team that would be interested in Porzingis.

Knicks general manager Scott Perry would not answer a question directly in October about whether Porzingis was happy with his contract talks.
