The Uncharted Movie Has Finally Found A New Director

This will be Trachtenberg's sophomore feature-length film, as his only other major movie credit as a director comes from 10 Cloverfield Lane. Since the stepping down of director Shawn Levy in December 2018, Sony Pictures has been on the hunt for a replacement. Set before the events of Naughty Dog's Uncharted game series, the film focuses on the life of Nathan Drake (Tom Holland), a young treasure hunter seeking an adventurous thrill, and his first encounter with fan-favorite Victor Sullivan - nicknamed Sully. However, a new writer was said to be sought after Sony chose to rework to project to center on a young Nathan Drake.

The movie will be a co-production between Arad and Atlas Entertainment Production, and will be produced by Charles Roven, Alex Gartner, and Ari and Avi Arad. Joe Carnahan (Smokin' Aces) wrote a draft of the script before Rafe Judkins (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) tried his hand, but now rookie scribes Mark Walker and Jon Rosenberg are on board to rewrite. Jonathan Kadin is overseeing the film for Columbia. According to the report, "Sony has been hoping to work with Trachtenberg since [the horror film] opened in 2016". He expertly paced out 10 Cloverfield Lane's claustrophobic paranoia, turning it into a film that leaves the viewer every bit as trapped as the protagonists.

Tottenham investigate Son Heung-min racism allegations
A Spurs fan tweeted that he felt compelled to confront another member of the home crowd after being disgusted by what he heard. Reported to stewards, confronted him myself and was called a c*nt. "Spurs have been great".

Sony hasn't announced a production start date for the film just yet, as Holland is now gearing up for the press tour for his forthcoming sequel Spider-Man: Far From Home, which will be opening this summer. The movie went on to be a box office success, bringing in $110 million worldwide on a budget under $20 million. A little over two years ago, he was linked to a biopic about Harry Houdini, but development on that project seems to have stalled. On the TV front, he shot the critically acclaimed "Black Mirror" episode "Playtest" starring Wyatt Russell and most recently lensed the pilot for Amazon's "The Boys", which premieres this year.
