Breaking ranks with his boss in the White House, . the U.S. Director of National Intelligence has cast doubt over North Korea's willingness to denuclearize.

The summit last June between North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and US President Donald Trump had brought about a dramatic turn in relations that had been "the most hostile on earth" and contributed to ensuring peace and security on the divided peninsula, Han said.

The DNI report said that in his 2019 New Year's address, Kim pledged that North Korea would "go toward" complete denuclearization and promised not to make, test, use, or proliferate nuclear weapons.

The apparent gap between Trump and his own intelligence agencies has been a persistent theme over the last two years, and Tuesday's testimony illustrates just how stark the divide is between what the President says and the information he is being presented.

Coats, speaking on behalf of the assembled officials, said that North Korea was "unlikely to completely give up its nuclear weapons and production capabilities", which the country's leaders consider "critical to the regime's survival".

While Trump prepares for a second summit with Kim, Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats said in a report to the Senate Intelligence Committee Tuesday that "we continue to observe activity inconsistent with full denuclearization".

"His comments run counter to President Trump's view that North Korea no longer poses a nuclear threat to the U.S".

United States intelligence chief Dan Coats painted a dire picture of a danger-filled world to the Senate, contradicting the Trump administration's optimism on North Korea and pessimism on Iran while beating the drum of Russiagate.

There are issues to resolve before the transfer can be sealed, understood to include the structure of payment and bonuses. He has also been named an MLS All-Star and a member of the MLS Best XI in both seasons he has spent in the league.

Kim and Trump are planning to hold another summit at the end of February to continue their discussions on denuclearization.

"At the moment technically they are in compliance" with the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), Haspel told the Senate Intelligence Committee.

The report also said the Islamic State group "remains a terrorist and insurgent threat" inside Iraq, where the government faces "an increasingly disenchanted public".

Last year, Trump withdrew the USA from the Iran nuclear deal negotiated earlier under President Barack Obama.

He also disputed President Donald Trump's claim that ISIS had been defeated and said it "still commands thousands of fighters in Iraq and Syria" and has a dozen networks around the world.

Trump has repeatedly said in recent months that Islamic State had been defeated, justifying his abrupt announcement in December that he would pull U.S. troops out of Syria.

On Tuesday the intelligence chiefs stressed that Russian Federation had again tried to meddle in the 2018 midterm Congressional elections, and were poised - along with potential copycats like China - to do the same in the 2020 presidential campaign.

"Moscow is now staging cyberattack assets to allow it to disrupt or damage USA civilian and military infrastructure during a crisis", it said.
