However, Honda clearly mentioned that the production model of the concept will boast a "planted, muscular stance".

Honda released a leaked image telling so much about some small yet important details about the Honda Urban EV. Company president and CEO Takahiro Hachigo suggested that a production version of the concept auto could launch within two years, though warned that the show vehicle wasn't the final design. The regular headlights are replaced with round LED ones.

"I'd like to make a supercar", Honda's design boss Makoto Iwaki told us previous year.

The vehicle depicted here trades mirrors for video cameras (just like the Audi e-tron and Lexus ES) and has a digital display instead of the radiator grille.

Design-wise, the prototype bears some semblance to the Urban EV Concept from 2017, most notably by the circular headlamps and bonnet element at the front.

It is believed that the production version of the Honda Urban EV will adopt the now-normal skateboard platform that places its battery pack below the load floor.

Michel Legrand, Oscar-winning composer, dies aged 86
He collaborated with Jean-Luc Godard on films including 1962's Vivre sa vie: film en douze tableaux and 1964's Bande à part . Legrand lived in a musical whirlwind, with the same appetite for popular music to jazz, from conducting to film.

Heavily inspired by the 1 generation Civic hatchback, the car's cute and quirky design, not to mention sub-4-meter length, made us nostalgic and longing for simpler and better days. Another factor is that EV resembles the mixed Honda N6000 and first-gen Volkswagen Golf features.

"A production version of this highly acclaimed concept will be introduced to Europe during late 2019, and in response to the positive feedback to this model, we expect to open order banks for the Urban EV during early 2019", Philip Ross, senior vice president of Honda Motor Europe said in 2018.

However, Honda did say that their new EV was "developed with a focus on functionality and purpose".

Now the automaker is close to revealing a prototype for the production version.

If it's anything like recent Honda electric vehicle prototypes, we may be in for a treat.
