The Toronto Raptors are one of a number of teams interested in acquiring new New York Knicks swingman Wesley Matthews, reports the New York Times' Marc Stein.

The Knicks have received multiple trade calls on Matthews with the Philadelphia 76ers a potential suitor.

The Knicks shockingly traded their franchise cornerstone, and generational talent - Kristaps Porzingis, along with Tim Hardaway Jr., Courtney Lee, and Trey Burke to the Dallas Mavericks in exchange for Dennis Smith Jr., DeAndre Jordan, Wesley Matthews, and two first-round picks. Clearly, teams vying for the 2019 National Basketball Association title feel like Matthews could provide a big boost as a dedicated defender and floor-spacer. Two worldwide players, both of whom should be All-Stars for the foreseeable future, taking the baton from Dirk seems poetic. Let's look at the top six players the Dubs should pursue if they end up as free agents.

It is yet to be confirmed whether Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper will perform Shallow and Kendrick Lamar and SZA will sing All the Stars during the show on 24 February.

"Both of those guys have played some [playoff] series on some really good basketball teams", Fizdale said of Matthews and center DeAndre Jordan, via the New York Post. "I want them to come here and enjoy the process with us and really help the young guys".

According to Stein, the Knicks are exploring trading Matthews before Thursday.

Matthews is averaging 20.6 FanDuel points over 45 games for the Mavericks and Knicks this season, with 12.9 points, 2.3 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 0.7 steals, and 2.2 triples per contest.
