The 82nd-ranked Albot is expected to climb to a new career-high close to No. 50. Evans, playing his seventh match in eight days, had to reach deep within himself to force the tiebreak, having been a break down early in the third set when there was a lengthy rain delay, breaking back for 4-4 against a solid counter punching opponent.

Albot's nickname is "The Machine", and he certainly looked the part on Sunday.

It was the second final of Evans' career.

There, Daniel moved 6-4 up after a forehand error from Albot to create two match points, wasting both to keep Radu in contention but earning the third with a forehand down the line victor in the 13th point.

Albot, who also reached the doubles semi-finals this week with Yoshihito Nishioka, showed his comfort at net by taking any ball that Evans left short, hitting a strong approach shot and finishing off the point in the forecourt. But everything changed at 2-1, 15/0 in the decider. A mark of his talent is that before he beat Isner on Saturday night the giant American, a foot taller, had not had his serve broken for 77 games - the British player managed it three times.

Elon Musk fires back at SEC on twitter
Shares of Tesla down almost 0.4 percent at $297.44 in early afternoon trading, but recoverd from the lowest point of the day. But Gordon expects Musk will do it again, and that would trigger more significant action from the court.

Daniel won three points more overall and he had better numbers around the first serve, struggling on the second to face 13 break points and fending off ten of those to limit the damage.

"If you want to win the match you need to win two sets". But Evans made errors on all three of his chances, including a backhand volley from just a couple feet inside the baseline at 7/6 that sailed mere inches long.

The Moldovan star had to wait for 56 minutes as the match was halted by rain and slowed down Albot's momentum. "I gave it a good go and it wasn't good enough".

The break in play rejuvenated Evans but, despite overturning a 4-2 deficit to lead 6-5, he could not get over the line as he wasted match points and lost the tie-break.
