Apple’s new acquisition will help it better market to customers

United States consumer products giant, Apple has reportedly bought London digital marketing startup, DataTiger, as part of a move to boost the iPhone maker's digital marketing and make it more relevant to customers, Bloomberg reported.

Philip Mohr is still listed on LinkedIn as Data Tiger's CEO.

While the company website is largely-defunct, the company's LinkedIn page echoes Mohr's remarks, stating: "DataTiger is a set of tools that enables you to build marketing software that puts your data to work". The firm offers an online tool for importing data and setting up user flows, and it is now building a proprietary artificial intelligence-based marketing solution for processing large volumes of real-time data.

Judges picked the remaining three finalists on Tuesday before the main event. The competition drew 2,800 dogs from 203 breeds and varieties.

Apple uses several forms of digital marketing, such as emails to tout new products and push notifications to encourage users to subscribe to services like Apple Music.

Apple did not confirm the acquisition with its usual boilerplate statement, but Bloomberg says a regulatory filing from December indicates the iPhone maker now controls the parent company and legal name of DataTiger, Operatedata Ltd.
