A train takes off with an unaccompanied baby inside.

The train doors closed as he was on the platform, the train - and baby - then left without him.

According to the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority, the baby was left on a train heading westbound from the Windermere station on the morning of January 12 as the father stepped off to smoke a cigarette on the platform.

The man started running, frantically trying to stop the train but it was too late.
