Senator Bernie Sanders Announces Run For US Presidency In 2020

Senator Bernie Sanders, the self-described democratic socialist who gained a national following when he challenged Hillary Clinton for the 2016 Democratic presidential nomination, raised more than $4 million on Tuesday from nearly 150,000 individual donors after announcing another White House run, according to his campaign.

"Bernie Sanders has already won the debate in the Democrat primary because every candidate is embracing his brand of socialism", Kayleigh McEnany, the Trump campaign spokeswoman, said. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., who threw her hat into the 2020 race earlier this month, raised more than $1 million in the first 48 hours of her candidacy, her campaign announced.

"Our campaign is about transforming our country and creating a government based on the principles of economic, social, racial and environmental justice", Sanders said.

Stephen Colbert is no fan of Donald Trump, and it looks like he isn't backing Bernie Sanders either.

Kilmeade then pointed to the timing of Sanders' announcement, which came just one day after Trump denounced socialism and reiterated his support for Venezuelan opposition leader Juan Guaidó at an event in Miami.

The tweet was noticed by journalists including Business Insider politics reporter John Haltiwanger who said linking Sanders campaign to Russian influence was "completely unfounded" and a "serious allegation" to be making in the current political climate.

Actor Jussie Smollett charged with filing false police report
According to the Cook County State Attorney's office, Smollett is due to appear in court for a bond hearing at 1:30 p.m. Smollett also was later charged with false impersonation, driving under the influence and driving without a license.

"The people of New Hampshire will tell me what's required to compete in New Hampshire, but I will tell you I am not a democratic socialist", California Senator Kamala Harris said on Monday.

His launch video was viewed almost 6m times while he received 330,000 "pledges of support", roughly a third of his goal to reach one million to build an "unprecedented and historic grassroots campaign". He ran for United States president on a platform of progressive ideas such as free healthcare for all, but eventually lost the Democratic nomination to Hillary Clinton. She in turn was defeated by Trump, a billionaire who campaigned as a populist outsider.

Sanders has reshaped Democratic politics and earned a loyal following with his passionate defense of liberal proposals including free college tuition and single-payer health care.

"I think he is a pathological liar", Mr Sanders said in the radio interview. "Only President Trump will keep America free, prosperous and safe".

In an interview with CBS, Sanders said he was expecting Trump to suggest that socialist policies would collapse the USA economy much like what happened to Venezuela. Some of the activists who helped propel his campaign in 2016 have expressed ambivalence this time, as have some of the influential celebrities and politicians who once rallied behind him. "Now, it is time to complete that revolution and implement the vision that we fought for", he told supporters.
