Billy Porter's Oscars tuxedo dress turns heads, sparks social media frenzy

Billy gave serious competition to all the fashionistas out there with his dramatic red carpet look. He wrote a letter for Vanity Fair about the gown and channeling masculinity. "It was empowering to let that part of myself free".

The Pose actor, who tops the Academy Awards best-dressed list without a doubt ― showed up in a velvet tuxedo dress by Christian Siriano.

The artist began his career on Broadway, where he appeared in Kinky Boots, Grease and Smokey Joe's Cafe, according to the Internet Movie Database. Well, Billy Porter just proved that he doesn't need any luck because he arrived wearing a straight up gown (yes, gown!) to the awards.

The Oscars is a night full of fashion moments, but there's one that already won our hearts: Billy Porter's gender-defying ball gown.

Sprint 5G Launches in May in Select Cities
Sprint has sued rival AT&T claiming its 5G Evolution offering misleads consumers because it is not the same as true 5G. Google and Sprint announced Monday that Sprint will bring 5G to Google's signature Fi MVNO in the first half of 2019.

Siriano tweeted that Porter was "shutting the red carpet down" in the dress. To challenge expectations. What is masculinity? "Women show up every day in trousers, but the minute a man wears a dress, the seas part", Porter said.

Taking to Instagram, Porter shared his picture of going to the Oscar's and captioned it saying, "Call me Cinder-Fella".

Porter also stunned at the Golden Globes last month in his bejeweled gray suit and hot pink cape. "Y'all trippin'? I stopped traffic!"

"I didn't come to play, I came to slay", he said during an after-party interview with E Online, in which he also gave a shout-out to his alma mater.
