Cadet, whose real name is Blaine Cameron Johnson, was the passenger in a taxi that collided with another vehicle near the university, his management said.

The English music scene was shocked by the news that rapper Cadet, real name Blaine Cameron, was killed in a auto crash on Friday night.

@micrighteous tweeted, "RIP Cadet you had so much more to give, this doesn't make sense". Everything was working out for him.

The police statement said: "At just before 1.30am this morning police were called to reports of a two-vehicle collision involving a silver Toyota Prius and a red Vauxhall Combo van on Main Road, Betley (A531)".
