Collier County Sheriff's Department shows Warner Wolf. The Sportscaster is facing a felony charge after police say he damaged a sign outside his Florida community because it included the word"Plantation" which he cons

Wolf, 81, removed the word from the sign at the Classics Plantation Estates community in Naples on November 30, according to the report, with an official saying they obtained footage showing a man who fits Warner's physical profile in the act.

The sheriff's office says Wolf long complained about his community's name, Classics Plantation Estates.

Plantations are historically remembered in the South as estates that used slave labor.

"On December 13, 2018 a male drove up to the vehicle gate at Classics Plantation in a black Toyota SUV, ' read the police report".

This booking photo released by the Collier County Sheriff's Department shows Warner Wolf. "The individual letters spelling "Plantation" appeared to have been intentionally broken off of both sides of the sign".

Longtime sportscaster Warner Wolf was arrested this week in Florida for removing letters from a sign at his private gated community that spelled the word "plantation", officials said.

Wizards trade Markieff Morris to Pelicans
Since the start of the season, Washington has saved $18.3 million toward the luxury tax. Morris, 29, has been sidelined since late December with neck stiffness.

McDonald explained Wolf was a "vocal critic" and brought up the idea of changing the name in many meetings, The Miami Herald reported.

After a brief investigation which included interviewing the witness and reviewing the surveillance footage, the sheriff's office found probable cause that Wolf had violated Florida statute 806.13 1B3 and a warrant was issued for his arrest. Collier County records show the 81-year-old Wolf surrendered Thursday, Feb. 7, 2019, on a felony criminal mischief charge and was released.

Wolf declined comment Saturday and his attorney didn't immediately return a call.

Wolf is perhaps best known as a local news sports anchor in New York City and Washington, D.C.

He later worked as a local sportscaster with WABC-TV in NY and WCBS-TV.

He is also the author of the books Let's Go to the Videotape, named after his infamous phrase, and Give Me a Break.
