Minnesota on Wednesday agreed to trade the Massachusetts-born winger to the Boston Bruins, sources said, in a deal believed to be for Ryan Donato and a fifth-round pick. Coyle was a first-round pick (No.28 overall) in 2010 and has registered 242 points (91G / 151A) in 479 career National Hockey League games since then. While a natural center (the 26-year-old has posted a 46.0 faceoff percentage this season), Coyle also has the ability to play on the wing.

A Weymouth, Mass. native, Coyle comes to the Bruins having posted 10 goals and 28 points through 60 games this season. He scored as many as 21 goals in the 2015/2016 season.

The American carries a $3.2 million cap hit through next season on the five-year contract he signed with the Wild in 2014. However, Donato struggled to find his way this season, scoring just six goals with three assists (nine points) in 34 games.
