Clayton Kershaw Is Struggling Early in Spring Training 2019

According to Jorge Castillo of the Los Angeles Times, Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw has been shut down indefinitely due to an unknown arm injury.

That's bad news every day of the week, but what's even worse is that the Dodgers don't seem to know what's wrong.

Kershaw told Roberts he wasn't feeling right after throwing live batting practice Monday and a bullpen session on Wednesday. Roberts wouldn't speculate on the left-hander's next bullpen session.

Roberts isn't anxious about his ace, though. That said, he acknowledged that he "can't say right now" just when Kershaw will be ready to ramp back up. "I'm not going to get another chance to do this during the season". And we're sort of leaving that to him and the trainers to figure out when that is.

Since then, the film has won several awards, including the Screen Actors Guild Award for Blunt in the supporting actress category. The dazzle of A Quiet Place: It was largely a near dialogue-less screenplay where sound was the motivating fear factor.

In Roberts's view, too, this is just an early pause "to just kind of step away, give him a couple days".

Kershaw has dealt with back injuries the last three seasons and a left shoulder injury a year ago. Roberts stressed that Kershaw's back, which has landed him on the injured list each of the past three seasons, is not the issue. That injury returned took him out of commission for almost another month. For the time being, then, we'll just have to wait to see how things progress and await further word. He didn't rule out "dead arm" as the issue. But his fastball velocity dropped to the low 90s and his slider began to take on the characteristics of a cutter, giving Kershaw little differentiation outside of the rare times he threw his curveball.

Just as the engines were cleared to take off in Los Angeles for the start of spring training, there has been an apparent failure to launch. Depending on how Kershaw feels over the next week or two, Roberts may need to make an adjustment.
