It marks Cupra's first anniversary as a standalone brand.

For those who've struggled with the idea that Cupra is now a separate brand to Seat, maybe the launch of its first standalone model will help.

The Formentor takes its name from a peninsula on Majorca, following parent firm Seat's convention of naming cars after Spanish geographical features. It features a lower and sleeker silhouette than many SUVs, giving it a "coupe-crossover" profile with a sloping roofline and a beltline that sharply rises at the rear.

The Formentor's exterior features a LED light strip at the rear stretched the entire width (similar to Seat Tarraco's), as well as quad exhausts. Called the Formentor, it's a new crossover that still uses the VW Group's ubiquitous MQB architecture but gets bespoke styling, as well as a plug-in hybrid powertrain developing 245hp. The whole setup is mated to a DSG transmission.

By a quirk of fate, Palace also boast the Premier League record for having the youngest boss, too. The Foxes are now winless in their last seven games with boss Puel under mounting pressure.

While performance and fuel economy figures are yet to be confirmed (this is just a concept, remember), Cupra says the Formentor will be able to drive in pure electric mode for up to 31 miles.

The interior is typical Volkswagen Group, aside from the leather-clad bucket seats and new 10-inch floating navigation system, the cabin is filled with dark plastics.

The Cupra Formentor will make a public debut at the Geneva Motor Show, taking place from March 7-17. Moreover, the design of the body, and study the interior of this vehicle is nearly like a production-ready model.
