Disney's Live-Action 'Aladdin' Trailer Reveals Will Smith's Snarky Genie

As promised, Will Smith has granted fans' wishes and been transformed into a blue hue for Aladdin.

Grammy watchers met the new Aladdin during Sunday's musical awards show when footage from the upcoming live-action film of the famed story came out. While the original role was played by the late Robin Williams and can never be duplicated, Smith's appearance in this most recent trailer proves he's most certainly bringing the snark.

Alongside Smith, "Power Rangers" star Naomi Scott stars as Princess Jasmine and Canadian actor Mena Massoud stars as Aladdin.

Though a still released previous year showed Smith in his Genie outfit, he didn't look almost enough like his cartoon counterpart.

Prince George's unemployment rate down year-over-year
The province saw job losses in fishing, mining, quarrying, oil and gas, down 4,800 jobs, and in manufacturing, down 3,500 jobs. The statistics show that Camrose-Drumheller has the highest unemployment rate of all the economic regions in the province.

What do you think of the first full-fledged look at Will Smith's Genie? Smith even tried to preempt criticism in an Instagram post.

"You really don't know who I am?!" he asks Aladdin, just after popping out of the lamp.

One Disney exec told EW that Will's Genie is part Fresh Prince and part Hitch. "There hasn't been a lot of that hip-hop flavor in Disney history". Aladdin opens in theaters on May 24.
