Embiid's leap into seats narrowly misses actress Regina King

The Philadelphia 76ers never seemed too in danger of letting their Wednesday night win over the New York Knicks slip away, and that included the game's third quarter, when the Sixers held a 15-point lead.

She narrowly missed out on being injured by seven-foot-tall (two metre) athlete Joel Embiid, who plays centre for the Philadelphie 76ers.

The basketball player commented on the incident after the game, where he expressed regret at landing on the statistician working the broadcast who was sitting behind King. "But, I'm so sorry". Though Embiid didn't respond, he did like the tweet.

And asked what he was thinking when he saw Joel coming towards him feet first, Dave added: "As soon as he was coming I said, 'Oh no!' You know, there was nothing I could do". However, as he charged toward the crowd in an effort to keep the ball in play, Embiid helped avert a nasty incident as the 7-footer showcased his athleticism to leap over King and into the stands.

The 91st Academy Awards air live on ABC at 8 p.m. on February 24.
