It has achieved nearly everything a horse could.

Australia's superstar mare Winx notched up her 30th successive victory with another dominant display in The Star Apollo Stakes at Randwick. She retired in 2013 undefeated. The Hungarian mare Kincsem won 54 consecutive races.

The seven-year-old has won a world record 22 Group One races in succession and accumulated nearly A$23 million (13 million pounds) in earnings.

In the lead-up to the Apollo, there were questions whether Winx could come back as a seven-year-old or maybe it was just wishful thinking by her opponents. Talking on SEN, he said that Winx may participate in spring and could eye a fifth Cox Plate as well.

Winx will now be trying to win her fourth straight Group 1 $600,000 Chipping Norton Stakes (1600m) at Randwick on March 2 before heading into the Group 1 $1m George Ryder Stakes (1500m) at Rosehill on March 23 before making her final race day appearance in the Group 1 $4m Longines Queen Elizabeth Stakes (2000m) at Randwick on April 13.

This race could be a turning point in her career. Interestingly, the bettor is set to win just $20,000.

Winx made history previous year with her fourth Cox Plate triumph at Moonee Valley.

Winx brings out huge bets with one punter reportedly betting $150,000 at $1.10. Bookmakers have settled around a $1.09 odd for her winning the Randwick race.

Winx defeated the ever reliable Happy Clapper by 2.25 lengths with two-lengths to Egg Tart - owned in similar interests to Winx - finishing third.

She has won four Cox Plates when everyone thought Kingston Town's three would stand the test of time.

Black Caviar is the next best Australian horse with 25 successive race wins, 15 of which were Group One victories. Winx has won $7 million more than the next-highest earner, the Peter and Paul Snowden-trained Redzel. "It's exactly what we need and why this sport is so great".

Her trainer Chris Wallet suggests that she can look after herself and doesn't put herself under pressure in races.

"She will take natural improvement", he said.

"I don't think they could comprehend her getting beaten".

Bowman always looked like he had his seven rivals covered and was pleased with how the 1400m contest played out.
