The one-year-old child was trapped inside the auto, with the keys inside.

Lantry told CNN affiliate WFTS-TV the incident began when the child's father strapped the girl into a auto seat in the back of the SUV and tossed the keys to the front seat.

Deputies from the Pasco County Sheriff's office arrived to find both parents attempting to break into their vehicle.

A group of inmates were reportedly repairing medians nearby, under police supervision, when they noticed the incident.

That is when the prisoners, in their black and white uniforms, offered to help, and worked in a team to pry open the front door just enough for one inmate to use a coat hanger to push a button that unlocked the 4x4's door.
