Watford's Andre Gray celebrates scoring their first goal with team mates

Four people have been arrested after violence erupted outside Watford Football Club's stadium today - leaving two men "covered in blood".

The men sustained facial cuts and bruises, according to police. And after Andre Gray, one of his early signings as Watford manager, had scored the game's only goal, the Everton manager conceded the stoking up of a hostile atmosphere had been a clever ploy by his previous employers, who obviously no longer have him on their Christmas card list.

A shocked witness said one of the injured men was seen lying on the floor "apparently unconscious" after the incident.

They played Al Wilson's 1968 hit The Snake at Vicarage Road, just before Rocket Man by Elton John and the Z-Cars theme both Watford and Everton use to signal their imminent arrival on the pitch.

He added: 'Friends around him were crying and shouting for people to help and call an ambulance'.

PSG with fitness and form worries ahead of Man Utd tie
At the other end of the table, struggling Monaco are chasing a second straight league win as they visit Montpellier. He returned to training earlier this week, but it remains to be seen if he will be fit to face Bordeaux.

A video posted on Twitter shows people gathered around someone lying on the floor while an onlooker calls out "coward".

BBC reporter Rick Kelsey tweeted: 'Loads of police after fighting in-between coaches and railings next to crowd.

A spokeswoman for Hertfordshire Constabulary said: "At around 5.10pm, an altercation occurred between a group of men".

'Two sustained cuts and bruising to their faces and have been taken to hospital for further assessment'.

The 3-2 FA Cup exit at the hands of Millwall ended Everton's pursuit of silverware for another season, but it has also granted Silva the opportunity to get his players to work on their form and fitness ahead of the final months of the campaign.
