A now-deleted "Green New Deal FAQ" published on Ocasio-Cortez's website, however, did use the phrase "unwilling to work".

When questioned about the Green New Deal's proposal to guarantee "economic security to all who are unable or unwilling to work", Cornell University law professor Robert Hockett told Carlson such a provision does not actually appear in Ocasio-Cortez's Green New Deal. "I think you're referring to some sort of document that some, I think some doctored document that somebody other than us has been circulating", Hockett answered, inaccurately. There are no longer any press releases or content on the Green New Deal on her media page-only a release on her swearing in earlier this year.

"We never would and AOC has never said anything like that", Hockett said.

But, Carlson's belief that Rep. Ocasio-Cortez did mention those "unwilling to work" was not wrong at all. "Then I'm glad, it's nice to have a smart person on the show to explain this", Carlson replied. "She tweeted it out to laugh at it".

Hockett then accused Republicans of putting out misinformation about the plan. It has since been deleted.

The driver had been shot in the head and a passenger was arrested, the paper reported, citing local outlet the Nogales International .

But, why would Rep. Ocasio-Cortez retweet Lawrence as if to support his belief Carlson had been proven incorrect.

I am proud to be an original co-sponsor of the Green New Deal proposal. "But what's in the resolution is the GND".

"I don't know where you got that either", Hockett said.

The segment generated a lot conversation on social media after a Media Matters researcher flagged the segment, claiming Hockett "debunk [s] all the conservative media lies" about the Green New Deal. At worst, Rep. Ocasio-Cortez and her team are lying to the American people.

Hockett conceded that he was in the wrong in an email to The Daily Caller News Foundation on Saturday.
