Box Office Ranveer and Alia's Gully Boy does well over extended weekend especially considering its offbeat genre and treatment

Starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in lead roles, Gully Boy is raking in huge numbers at the box office in the first week of its release. Right now one hopes that the collections stay in the range of 7.50-9 crore between today and Thursday too as that would keep the film in the running for a 150 crore haul. However, the collection saw a dip on Friday and Gully Boy collected Rs 12.75 crore.

The film had a successful start as it garnered Rs 19.40 crore on its opening day. That would be superb for Zoya Akhtar as this is her comparatively more massy film when compared to her earlier outings. If it sustains well at the box office on the weekdays, Gully Boy will enter the 100 crore club in the blink of an eye. It is produced under the banners of Tiger Baby and Excel Entertainment and also stars Kalki Koechlin, Vijay Varma, Amruta Subhash, Vijay Maurya, Siddhant Chaturvedi and Vijay Raaz in key roles. Set in Mumbai's Dharavi slums, the film is inspired by the lives of underground street rappers Divine and Naezy and throws light on Mumbai's rap culture. The film is being loved by people of all age groups and has received wonderful reviews from critics all over.

EPL: Manchester United ready to make De Gea highest paid player
De Gea's initial deal saw his time end this summer though his one year extension clause is said to have been triggered. The Spaniard is out of contract next year at the club and has been non-committal about his future beyond then.

If latest reports are anything to go by, the Zoya Akhtar-directed film Gully Boy is being considered for a remake down South.
