A commenter on the Reddit post questioned: "Wonder if they're going to sell these maps in the new Auckland store".

"Ikea is responsible for securing correct and compliant motifs on all our products", the company wrote in a statement to the BBC.

Retail giant Ikea, which has announced it will set up in New Zealand, has apologised for leaving the country off of a map sold in its stores. We can see that the process has failed regarding the product BJÖRKSTA world map - we regret this mistake and apologize.

"We regret this mistake and apologise", they said, adding that the incomplete map is now being phased out of Ikea stores.

"I have no doubt that a trained cartographer had no involvement in the creation of these products for Ikea", Lovell Johns Ltd's Liz Murray wrote. It has not been specified where or when it will be built.

And, to exacerbate the mistake, the firm is in the midst of opening its first store in the country - having announced last month that Auckland would soon see the iconic yellow and blue building.

Happy Bday JA! We all love you sooo!' Kate Hudson also shared photo booth snaps with both Paltrow and Aniston . To stay in a marriage based on fear feels like you're doing your one life a disservice", she added.

You don't even have to squint to notice the world map is missing our Kiwi cousins - and they're not happy.

Last year, a member of Reddit pointed out an Ikea store which had a map on their wall missing the country out.

In a video posted to Facebook, Darby said there was a "big conspiracy going down", and he needed Ardern's help to return Aotearoa to the world's map books.

"New Zealand, where the bloody hell are ya?" "This is a major conspiracy", he tells Ardern in the video.

Not since that underarm bowling incident from the 1981 one-dayer between Australia and New Zealand has there been so much outrage from across the Tasman. This week, Ikea issued an apology after selling world map that didn't include New Zealand.

New Zealand is often mistakenly left off of world maps sold around the globe, a frustration that has continuously plagued Kiwis throughout the years.
