Nelson coached the "We Believe" Warriors during the 2007-2008 season, when the franchise made the playoffs for the first time in 13 seasons.

"Yeah, I've been smoking some pot", Nelson said as former players Jason Richardson and Stephen Jackson laughed alongside him. Nelson followed up by clarifying he never smoked when coaching. It's new to me.

Golden State and its so-called "Death Lineup" has helped to produce three National Basketball Association titles in four years, but Nelson said the rest of the league has caught on, which means the Warriors need to adjust. I'm legal here. When any athlete gets old, every injury you have sustained seems to resurrect. But anyway, I'm doing that and I'm having a pretty good time. "So I'm enjoying that".

Nelson did an interview with the New York Times previous year in which he revealed that he even grows his own weed, which he calls "Nellie Kush".

He also apparently dabbles in high-stakes poker games with Willie Nelson, Owen Wilson and Woody Harrelson, and one would imagine that "Nellie Kush" makes an appearance or two during those events.

The reality TV personality quickly shut down the accusations, responding to a few comments . "Nope. Both she and Sophie were guests at Priyanka's wedding to Nick Jonas in December previous year .

Nelson added, "I've got a medical card ..." "It just became kind of natural".

He also told The Times, "Usually you're smoking with your friends, sitting around, telling stories, you smoke a bowl".

"No, I didn't smoke until maybe three or four years ago".

Since retiring, Nelson has retreated to Hawaii where he grows his own weed, including a strain called "Nellie Kush" which is a mixture of O.G and Hindu Kush. He was asked about what he's been up to lately and volunteered that he's been smoking some pot.
