Kansas State Wildcats Upend the No. 13 Kansas Jayhawks, 74-67

Kansas State's surprising season will continue versus rival

Beating Kansas State, a team that the Jayhawks have typically handled, would have been a massive step in securing that 15th straight title, but instead, KU turned the ball over 20 times and handed K-State an easy victory.

The zone offense by KU appeared to help fizzle out the Wildcats, just like the matchup in Manhattan past year.

The all-around K-State effort included the Wildcats shooting 43.1 percent (25-of-58) from the field in the game, while connecting on 41.7 percent (10-of-24) from beyond the arc. They're 7-2 and alone at the top with Baylor and Iowa State in the second and third spots respectively.

K-State used a resilient effort that saw the Wildcats lead for almost 29 minutes, that included a clutch effort in the waning minutes of the game. The Wildcats for the season are just 263rd in offensive efficiency but over their past three games are averaging just 0.007 points per possession fewer than Kansas. "We were hoping they wouldn't but I knew", Self said.

In many ways, the Jayhawks lost this one in the first half, both by suffering through a brutal start and by not building a bigger lead by halftime when they had the chance.

K-State would have to rely on quick scoring, with Jayhawk turnovers not allowing KU to set the defense. With future National Basketball Association players like über-talened wing Quentin Grimes, point guard Devon Dotson, and double-double machine Dedric Lawson, Kansas is one of the most lethal offenses in the country when they're clicking.

In addition to the macOS and iOS updates, Apple also released Shortcuts 2.1.3 to fix vulnerabilities found in Shortcuts for iOS. Apple plans to contribute to his college fund and will also pay a bounty to him and his family for reporting the bug.

After the game, head coach Bruce Weber talked about KU breaking into the zone in previous years.

The Jayhawks used a 15-1 run to claim the lead and led by as many as 5 late in the first half before taking a 33-30 lead to the locker room. But the veteran Wildcats maintained their poise - Sneed buried his 3 in front of his own bench, and Cartier Diarra's windmill dunk in transition put an exclamation mark on the win.

Sneed finished with 14 points and Dean Wade added 12 for the Wildcats (17-5, 7-2), who not only maintained their place atop the Big 12 but dealt another tough road loss to the Jayhawks. "We can't worry about that", Lawson said.

Bill Self and Kansas are in a weird funk right now, and they're traveling to Manhattan tonight, a place where huge upsets happen regularly (for some unexplained reason), to face off against Kansas State. "We just worry about getting better".

Brown was a freshman in February 2016, and K-State players were on their way to the handshake line as the final seconds ticked off the game clock when Greene opted to run up the score. "Take it one game at a time".
