He acknowledged downplaying the doctor's advice upon departure from the hospital to take it easy, immediately contacting the Timberwolves about a commercial itinerary that could get him to NY in time to play Friday against the Knicks.

As it turns out though, Towns is not only lucky to be unhurt, but simply fortunate to be alive.

Towns estimated that the semi was traveling between 35 and 45 miles per hour.

The 18-wheel semi-truck slammed into Joseph's Santa Fe in a frightening scene.

Towns opened up about the accident for the first time on Monday, telling the media that he's "blessed to be alive" after the crash, which could have been must worse.

James DeGale to consider future after points loss to Chris Eubank Jr
Eubank followed up and forced a count at the end of the round, though DeGale complained that he was hit on the back of the head. DeGale, 33, will be left considering his future after being dogged by shoulder, groin and Achilles problems in recent years.

"I hit the five percent mark. I'd say 4% was to be seriously injured, and 1% was to be minorly injured - and I came out in the 1%". "In all honesty, I probably should not have made it out like I did". And in even better news, Towns could return to the Timberwolves lineup as early as Monday night, (8 p.m. ET - Watch on FuboTV with NBA League Pass add-on). "You obviously want to make sure KAT the person is taken care of", he said. We stopped and I looked at our trainer who I'm glad is safe as well, looked at him and complained about the vehicle in front of us stopping so hard. He added, though, "I'm happy to be alive; I'm happy to be here talking". "I want to be there in person", he said. I want to scream for them. "That's definitely put ahead of KAT the basketball player", Saunders said. He did call his sister, who thought he was joking. I don't like when people worry about me.

"It was pretty gnarly, I ain't gonna lie", Karl-Anthony Towns said of the highway accident from which he was able to walk away.

The Timberwolves are obviously glad that Towns is OK.

The 23-year-old is averaging 23.1 points and 12 rebounds per game this season.
