Lady Gaga hit the red carpet at the 2019 Oscars in a demure strapless black gown by Alexander McQueen teamed with elbow-length gloves, but all eyes were on the enormous yellow diamond suspended from the star's neck. The widely-predicted victory, which she shared with co-writers Mark Ronson, Andrew Wyatt and Anthony Rossomando, was the film's first award of the night.

In addition to "Shallow" scoring an Oscar nomination for Best Original Song, A Star Is Born also competed in seven other categories this year: Best Picture, Best Actor (Cooper), Best Actress (Gaga), Best Supporting Actor (Sam Elliott), Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Cinematography and Best Sound Mixing.

Gaga confirmed her engagement to Carino in October 2018, when she referred to him as "my fiancé" at an event. Us Weekly's source also claimed that Cooper and Gaga "looked so close, they nearly seem like a couple".

"If you are at home and you're sitting on your couch and you're watching this right now, all I have to say is that this is hard work", she said in accepting the award. "I've worked hard for a long time, and it's not about winning". What it's about is not giving up. If you have a dream, fight for it.

The necklace may be vintage Hepburn, but impressed Twitter users, blinded by the diamond's familiar sparkle had a few other names for it - including but not limited to the necklace from Oceans 8, the necklace from How To Lose a Guy in 10 Days, and, yeah you get the point. I think I'm just going to keep the tux on.
