Lakers Acquire Reggie Bullock

The next couple of days are expected to be busy on the National Basketball Association trade front with the deadline looming on Thursday afternoon, and all eyes seem to be on the Los Angeles Lakers and a potential Anthony Davis deal.

According to a report by Frank Isola of The Athletic, Los Angeles struck a deal with the Detroit Pistons in which the teams would swap Reggie Bullock and Svi Mykhailiuk.

The deal gives LeBron James & Co. a much-needed 3-point threat.

Bullock scored 19 points on Tuesday night against the New York Knicks, and has averaged 12.1 points per game for the season. He's shooting 41 percent from the field and 38.4 percent from 3-point range. That would rank first among Lakers players with at least 50 catch-and-shoot 3s.

US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) futures were at $55.13 per barrel, down 13 cents, or 0.24 percent, from their last settlement. Brent crude futures dropped 24 cents, or 0.38 percent, to settle at $62.51 a barrel.

It is no secret that the Lakers need shooting, and Bullock provides them exactly that on an expiring contract. The Lakers are also including a draft pick in the deal, which is expected to be official on Wednesday. The Pistons have until July 5 to guarantee his $1.4 million contract for the 2019-20 season.

The NBA's trade deadline is Thursday at 3 p.m. ET.

According to multiple reports, the Lakers have been in talks with the New Orleans Pelicans in a potential trade for Anthony Davis, however the asking price appears to be too steep for Magic Johnson and Los Angeles. According to a league source, Lakers are close to acquiring Reggie Bullock from the Pistons for Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk.

Additional reporting from ESPN's Bobby Marks was used in this report.
