The report adds that Google will be releasing "a new premium phone in its Pixel range, as usual".

The Nikkei Asian Review's sources also reported that new smart speakers, wearables and web cameras will be arriving this year (as well as the premium Pixel 4 too of course). It is expected to be priced lower than Apple's cheapest iPhone.

Google is not a new player in the hardware market.

The news comes from Nikkei Asian Review, which says that Google plans to unveil its first lower-priced smartphone this year "as part of an aggressive push into hardware that it hopes will draw more users into its ecosystem", according to sources. When not on sale, the Pixel 3 starts at $999 CAD. In comparison, Google's latest model Pixel series, launched in October past year, was priced at $799.

Interestingly, the second-place victor is the Google Pixel 3 XL Lite, with 26 percent of the vote. It is rumoured to host a 5.6 inch IPS Full HD+ display.

OPEC squeezes oil output to 4-year low, Russia compliance low
US crude oil production remained at a record of 11.9 million barrels per day (bpd). Analysts polled by Reuters forecast an increase of 2.7 million barrels.

Google Pixel 3 was announced back in October and presented Android fans with a number of notable improvements from its predecessor. Also, the "smartwatch [that will] compete with the Apple Watch" will likely be called the Pixel Watch, considering what Google has done with the Pixel brand so far.

Finally, Strategy Analytics declared the Pixel 3 in particular is "starting to resonate" with U.S. customers that are "searching for something new, such as eSIM connectivity or AI". Pricing information isn't yet concrete but the expectation is that Google will undercut Apple's iPhone XR by a significant margin. It's unclear if the publication means an update to one of Google's existing smart home speakers or an entirely new device.

The report doesnt give any specific details about the timing of these products, but we should have a better idea as we get closer to Googles annual I/O developer conference where the company talks about the future of Android and Google services.

Last but not least, Google will release its first smartwatch.

Smartphones aren't the only Google hardware on the horizon.
