Crystal Palace star Luka Milivojevic does not want his side to match up against Manchester City in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.

Midfielder Milivojevic was the standout performer as Palace eased past League One Doncaster with Sunday's 2-0 victory at the Keepmoat Stadium.

"Of course the goal was important and I'm very happy to score but the most important thing is the team move on to the next round", Cavaleiro told BT Sport.

The Eagles only needed eight minutes to take the lead when Jeffrey Schlupp shot low into the net after a fine individual run.

McCann felt Palace's second goal in first-half stoppage time was a major blow to his side's hopes but praised their response in the second half.

Jeff Schlup opened the scoring after just eight minutes, while Max Meyer bag Palace's second goal on the stroke of halftime.

Crystal Palace have won away at Doncaster for the first time since August 1960, ending a six-game winless run in all competitions (drawn two, lost four).

'Our aim in the FA Cup is to try and get to the semi-final and then the final.

The influential Doherty also hit a post three minutes later after linking up superbly with Raul Jimenez, but one goal ultimately proved enough to end City's run of nine successive victories in all competitions.

Jeffrey Schlupp has scored five goals in all competitions for Crystal Palace this season, his most in a single campaign since 2011-12 (six for Leicester).

"We played the way we've always played this season".

The Eagles progressed into the quarter finals of the famous competition, after putting in a thoroughly impressive display, on a day where they could easily have slipped up if they were slightly off their game. I thought between the boxes we were good, but in the final third we didn't get enough shots away. Many of them came today to give us support and we as players [and] as a club are so proud to have them behind us.

"We like to get about teams, that's how we approach it, but we were not going to leave anything in the changing room and we gave it a go today".

Palace manager Hodgson, who was pleased with the professionalism of his players against Doncaster, echoed that sentiment. "In the end, we are delighted to come through on the right side and go into the quarter-finals".

"Today we owe an wonderful debt to our fans, I don't quite know how they got there with the problems with the trains, and I thought we were playing at home for large periods of the game".
