Dad Of Three Murdered In Darnd

A man has been shot and seriously injured in Dublin this morning.

The 39-year-old was shot at around 6.25am as he left his home on Marigold Crescent, Darndale.

Gardai are trying to establish a motive for the shooting of the dad of three.

He was brought to Beaumont Hospital, where he has now been pronounced dead.

The victim's partner is now pregnant with their fourth child.

It is believed that a burnt out vehicle discovered around a mile away at Greenwood Avenue, Donaghmede, may be linked to the shooting.

It's thought the vehicle may have been used in the shooting.

Gardaí have cordoned off the scene and a technical examination is due to take place.
