The Red Devils are said to be launching a big money move for Borussia Dortmund's Jadon Sancho this summer - if they can secure Champions League football for next season.

The 18-year-old earned his first senior England caps towards the end of last year and already looks as though he is set to become a mainstay, such is the talent he has shown early in his career.

"We liked him and then we thought 'can we get him?' No, because English clubs don't sell to other English clubs".

Sancho's performances for Dortmund have seen him propelled into the England squad, with the 18-year-old having scored seven and assisted nine in just 23 Bundesliga appearances.

He says the fact that English clubs rarely sell players to each meant Liverpool never got their hopes up of landing the winger.

According to The Mirror, United are determined to sign Sancho but know they will need to finish in the top four and ensure they can offer him Champions League football next season.

Sancho is under contract until 2022 and his former club Manchester City reportedly have the option to match any successful transfer bid Dortmund receive for his services.

The teenage winger has also shone in the Champions League for Dortmund this season and the club are set for a return to the competition next season as they now lead the Bundesliga.

However, both Premier League clubs are well capable of affording the player and with a fee expected to be in excess of £100m, can both afford the fee.
