Valanciunas, 26, has been the Raptors' starting center and has compiled season averaged of 12.8 points and 7.2 rebounds. He's averaged 15.7 points and 8.6 rebounds so far this season.

Portland has expressed interest in Pelicans big man Nikola Mirotic, among other available players - Evan Fournier of the Magic, Jeremy Lin of the Hawks, JaMychal Green of the Grizzlies - sources told Sporting News. They had resisted the idea of trading Gasol or Mike Conley for a few years, but their big swoon this season made them finally face reality; trying to build around that duo no longer made sense.

The trade deadline ends at 2 p.m. Thursday. The Raptors are hopeful the addition of Gasol, a three-time All-Star who's averaging 18 points and eight rebounds, will give them even more firepower heading into the playoffs.

Trump Sends Out Another Tweet on Border Wall
President Ronald Reagan delayed his address in 1986 after the Challenger space shuttle exploded, killing all seven crew members. As Trump spoke, Ocasio-Cortez could be seen smiling broadly. "Well, I'm saying listen closely to the State of the Union".

The deal, first reported by ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, will see Gasol head north to Toronto for center Jonas Valanciunas, guard Delon Wright, wing CJ Milles and a 2024 second-round pick to the the Grizzlies, per Wojnarowski.

Valanciunas was cleared to play today after missing 25 games with a dislocated left thumb and was expected in Toronto's lineup for Thursday's game at Atlanta. That solid move from the Raptors just wasn't enough to save their Twitter account from plenty of roasting. I just know one thing. The Charlotte Hornets have been active in trade talk over the years, but they could make a splash this year. In landing him, Toronto went from a team that was being passed as it stood still to striding aggressively back into the Eastern Conference race, otherwise known as the fight to be pantsed by the Golden State Warriors in the Finals.
