After the latest round of rumors and reports, all signs seem to be pointing to Harper eventually becoming a member of the Philadelphia Phillies. He's a six-time All-Star and already has a N.L. MVP award under his belt. However, the Giants planned to offer Harper a short-term deal with big money as USA Today's Bob Nightengale reported, which was countered by Heyman reporting that Harper would not be taking a short-term deal under any circumstances.

The Bryce Harper derby does not appear to be trending in the right direction for the San Francisco Giants, late entrants to the field.

Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune (also via Twitter) believes the Padres' offer to Machado is beyond the $250MM mark, though Acee isn't certain about the number of years involved in the contract. And now they appear willing to spend what it will take. Here's how Heyman broke it down: spoiler alert, the Phillies are in the lead.

Pakistan Army, foreign ministry website hacked; attack ‘originated from India’
According to officials in India, the move has been repeatedly blocked by China, an all-weather ally of Islamabad . Pakistan condemned the attack and rejected allegations that it was in any way responsible for it.

"Things are heating up with Harper", Heyman tweeted.

Harper met with the Phillies during a tour of potential suitors in early January, but nothing materialized. They have remained more connected to Machado, represented by Dan Lozano, and traded for his brother-in-law Yonder Alonso and signed a good friend, Jon Jay, as enticements.

Harper, 26, slashed.249/.393/.496 with 34 home runs and 100 RBIs, despite struggling for much of the first half of the 2018 season.
