The series had been clinched two games ago, but India ensured the scoreline read commanding and not close by defeating New Zealand in the final ODI to claim a 4-1 victory in the five-match series.

Black Caps captain Kane Williamson said Neesham's dismissal was a shame, believing he could have led New Zealand to victory. "MS is a big wicket but as we've seen today there are a number of other guys that are outstanding world-class players".

- India lost their fourth wicket at the score of 18 runs and won the match which is now the third lowest score batting first in ODIs resulting in a win.

"After we lost four wickets, all we needed was somebody to show application". The partnership between them turned the game for us and the way Hardik and Kedar played in the end was magnificent.

"The wicket got flat in the end, but at one point it looked like an easy chase". The bowling unit came together. A lot of people put their hands up and got us through. With the top four falling cheaply, it looked Rohit's courageous call may have backfired but Rayudu and Shankar produced an innings-reviving stand under vast pressure.

"When you want to win games, you need a right balance, especially when Bumrah is not here".

Chiefs found the fan who pointed laser in Tom Brady's face
The NFL and the Kansas City Chiefs spent some time investigating a laser pointer incident that occurred during the AFC championship game.

Sharma, standing in as captain for the rested Virat Kohli, opted to bat despite testing conditions and explained his reasons for doing so.

"We wanted to test ourselves". I couldn't ask for more. It wasn't until the 19th over that India first introduced spin - in the form of Yuzvendra Chahal - by which time the New Zealand pair was settled and motored along without much fuss.

New batsman Tom Latham (37) then joined his skipper in the middle and forged a crucial 67-run partnership and helped New Zealand to cross the 100-run mark. They got to a par total, maybe a few more. They play very good cricket, so it is a great take away for us.

This time, a half-tracker from part-timer Jadhav enticed a heave over mid-wicket, and he was caught on the mid-wicket rope, for a limp 39 off 73 balls. "He has done well and I don't find any reason why he can't play longer for India". "We saw some chances, but for the large part they were able to soak up that pressure and take the game to a stage where they could knock some hard runs". The fifth ODI will take place on February 03, i.e. Sunday.

The 4-1 scoreline is India's biggest series win on New Zealand soil across formats since they stated touring the country in 1967, and Rohit said it was a "massive" achievement.

2019 got off to the worst possible start for Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya, who was sidelined from the ODI series and T20I series against Australia for his comments in the famous talk show "Koffee With Karan".
