Lawyer Tan Sri Muhammad Shafee Abdullah, representing Najib, thanked the prosecution for suggesting the personal bond.

"We will also file an appeal against the High Court's decision in rejecting our application for a stay of the trial on Monday".

Thomas said the withdrawal of the charges did not amount to an acquittal, and that he will be applying for the three charges to be brought to the sessions court instead.

Following which, Najib was granted personal bond on all three charges by the court.

The former prime minister pleaded not guilty after the charges were read out to him before Sessions Court judge Azman Ahmad here on Friday (Feb 8).

Ousted from power previous year, Najib now faces nearly 40 criminal charges and Jho Low is wanted in Malaysia, Singapore and the United States.

According to the charge sheets, Najib was accused of being involved in money laundering amounting to a sum of RM47 million, which was a result of illegal activities, in his three AmPrivate Banking accounts.

The Pekan MP is expected to be charged again in the Sessions Court soon.

It confirmed that the company will "present the latest smartphones in the P series" at a Parisian event in March. The absence of a fingerprint reader suggests that it may be under the screen.

"The entire proceedings are questionable", he said, adding that the court should have heard the appeal on certificate of transfer first before hearing the three appeals.

"The seven charges (registered under a separate case) will be transferred from the Sessions Court to the high court to expedite the ends of justice in this case", he said. "By the way, who is delaying the trial?" he asked, adding that the defence was ready for the case to start next week.

Muhammad Shafee said the defence would submit objections against the three charges as there were several significant flaws in the charges.

"These charges were substantively the same charges the prosecution bulldozed over to the High Court (on Jan 28) and yesterday, the Attorney-General said he withdrew the charges as there was a fundamental error bringing the case to the High Court before going to the lower court", Muhammad Shafee said.

"The priority is for the Court of Appeal to hear the appeal against the High Court decision to allow the public prosecutor to withdraw the certificate and for the judge to take it upon himself to hear the cases", he said.

Thomas countered that today's appeals were related to the three appeals and had nothing to do with the appeal on the certificate of transfer.

Najib is facing six charges linked to money laundering and criminal breach of trust in the transfer of RM42 million into his account from former 1MDB unit SRC International.

He is also accused of abusing his power as the prime minister by giving government guarantees on SRC International's RM4 billion loan from the Retirement Fund Inc.
