Netflix Respond To Backlash Over The Notebook's 'Alternate Ending'

Netflix has changed the ending of the romantic drama

Netflix has changed the ending of the romantic drama"The Notebook in the United Kingdom from its sad ending to a happier outcome

Another incensed fan wrote: '@NetflixUK what gives changing the ending of The Notebook?! And fans were not happy.

"apparently some films have more than one ending?!" That's odd, and more than a little questionable.

A night in with Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams, whose captivating love story unfolds over six decades in the 2004 film, was effectively ruined by what many fans perceived as the streaming service's unnecessary decision to cut the film a scene early. Noah Calhoun and Allie Hamilton fall in love in 1940s America.

"Why have Netflix changed the ending of The Notebook".

Most of us have wiled away hours of hour lives sobbing at the 2004 film's famous ending, which depicts an elderly Noah and Allie dying together in bed and being discovered by a nurse the following day.

The very last scene sees them embrace each other in bed as Allie finally remembers Noah.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine renewed for season 7
It was canceled in 2018 , and it took NBC only a matter of hours to pick up the show for a sixth season. It airs Thursdays on NBC , and you can catch up on the entire series on Hulu right now .

Netflix has tweeted a response to the uproar, stating that they did not edit the film and that they were supplied with a version of the film featuring an alternate ending to the one familiar to people in the United Kingdom and Ireland.

And although the movie has some amusing moments, some passionate moments, and some heart-breaking moments, the ending is often the most talked about thing to come from the romantic film.

Author Nicholas Sparks weighed in on the controversial choice recently on The Today Show, but also refers to it as "above my paygrade".

"For me, it's an opinion thing", he added.

Viewers have been left fuming by the Netflix alternative ending.
