Iran terror attack: "Pakistan is ready to cooperate in investigations"

The suicide attack, which targeted a bus carrying Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps personnel, claimed the lives of 27 people and injured dozens of others in southeastern Iran on February 13.

The head of the IRGC's ground forces also said that another alleged member of the militant cell that planned the February 13 attack was also Pakistani.

'Operations and investigations for a firm response have been underway at the Supreme National Security Council immediately after the terrorist attack, ' he said.

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi spoke to his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javed Zarif on Sunday.

"We will cooperate fully with Iran, we have operational contact with Iran", Qureshi told state-run television.

The organizers chose to press ahead on their own, with donations from billionaires as well as schoolchildren. The rocket will launch from Space Launch Complex 40 (SLC-40) at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida.

But the Iranian military is demanding Pakistan crack down on the group responsible, Jaish al Adl, and has warned that if Pakistan does not take action, it may do so itself.

The attack killed 27 members of Iran's Revolutionary Guards travelling on a bus in the volatile southeastern province of Sistan-Baluchistan, which straddles the border with Pakistan.

The province is populated mainly by Sunni Muslim ethnic Baluchis.

Iran had initially accused Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates of being behind the attack, which killed 27 Guard members.

Pakpour's remarks appear to be the first time Tehran has said Pakistani citizens were directly involved in an attack on its territory, although Iran has repeatedly blamed Pakistan for sheltering militants in the border area. Riyadh denies the accusation.
