Payless has no plans to close Jamaican stores

In fact, the company said it plans to expand in the region over 2019. However, the retailer's stores overseas, including in Latin America, the Middle East, and Asia, will continue to operate.

Mario Zarazua, Chief Financial Officer for Payless, in a statement yesterday said that the company is committed to continued growth in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Payless reiterated that stores will remain open until at least the end of March and the majority will remain open until May.

The debt-burdened chain filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection a first time in April 2017, closing hundreds of stores as part of its reorganization.
