President Buhari is leading his main opponent, Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Meanwhile, the Federal Government has warned against plans to cause a constitutional crisis by truncating the electoral process and making the February 23, 2019 elections inconclusive.

"Pathetically, the Buhari Presidency is also threatening the South-East state governors to change results and carve a 25 per cent for Mr. President, a scheme that has already failed".

He said: "PDP's collation centres have all original results from every polling unit, in every ward, in every Local Government Area in Nigeria, of which the global community is well aware, implying all results now being announced by INEC are incorrect thus unacceptable to our party and people".

With the result announced from the five states, APC has won four states while the PDP won only in FCT.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, victor in the presidential polls held in Ebonyi on Saturday.

He urged INEC to re-conduct the elections as the results did not reflect wishes of the electorate in the state.

The Guardian reports that the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) rejected the collated results of the 2019 presidential election as the All Progressives Congress (APC) leads. "Mahmood Yakubu is allowing the APC to turn him into a villain and directly pitching him against the people", Ologbodiyan said in a statement on Sunday.

The PDP rejected the results at a press briefing it convened on Monday at its national headquarters in Abuja.

The PDP's comments and attempt to discredit the electoral commission were "an assault on our democracy", he added.

"Our collation centres have the original results from all the polling units in the country".

Officials of the APC working with INEC have made a decision to alter results to affect our people. This must now be resisted by every well-meaning Nigerian.

Secondus identified the police, the Nigerian Army, the Department of State Services (DSS) and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) as the agencies deployed to repress voters.

"The PDP is, in essence and most, unfortunately, saying that if they don't win fairly then they are willing to tear down the walls to get their way by hook or by crook", he said.

"In spite of this unjustifiable and provocative stance, we are confident that the results by INEC are free and fair".
