Oklahoma City had been down two key players in starting power forward Jerami Grant and backup point guard Dennis Schröder, and New Orleans - its back to the wall in the midst of Anthony Davis drama - seemed nearly buoyed by Davis' absence in the second half. Both traveled with the Thunder to New Orleans for its last game before the All-Star break.

"Coming out of the All-Star break it gives us some more bodies and numbers for practice and gives them time to get caught up to speed with what we're doing", Thunder coach Billy Donovan said after shootaround Thursday.

In fact, ESPN reported during the second half that Davis had his arm in a sling under his shirt and left the building with his agent, Rich Paul, before the end of the game.

"I'm gonna talk about the guys that play", Gentry said. We found a way to win the game.

Holiday was part of a team-wide containment effort that checked Kia MVP candidate Paul George, who struggled through a 28-point performance, shooting just 11-of-29 (3-17 3FGs) and committing three turnovers. The severity of Davis' injury - or his status moving forward - is not known at this time, though he did leave the Smoothie King Center well before the game ended on Thursday night.

But the Pelicans didn't fold thanks to Randle, who responded by tipping in Kenrich Williams' missed 3-pointer, then added a layup with 1:30 to go and an 8-foot fall-away with 1:12 left. There's no point for him to risk an injury playing for a franchise he doesn't want to play for.

Davis was in the starting lineup and played 16 minutes during the first half.

Fortunate Muzulu, the administrator for the area, said: "The names of the people believed to have been trapped has reached 23. He noted that the water levels in both mines continue to rise, leading to fears that the miners may have drowned.

Westbrook and George heated up in the second quarter, scoring 15 and 10, respectively, in the period, but New Orleans led by as many as 9 points before settling for a 66-63 halftime lead.

Davis finished with 14 points and four rebounds Thursday.

The Pelicans led for most of the game and by as many as 17 in the third quarter.

The Thunder pulled as close as 121-118 with 2:52 left, when George hit a straight-on 3, hollering and pounding his chest after the shot went down.

Pelicans forward/center Julius Randle helped fill the void left by Davis' absence, finishing with 33 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists. Oklahoma City had 72 points in the paint but missed 34 of 44 3-point attempts.

Westbrook began the season ranked third in career rebounds, second in assists, third in steals, fifth in games played, second in minutes, second in free throws made, etc.
