Seminoles quarterback dismissed over domestic violence charges

On Sunday afternoon, Florida State head coach Willie Taggart announced returning starting quarterback Deondre Francois has been kicked off the Seminoles football team after a video documented alleged abuse by Francois against his girlfriend. Yes, I stayed after that because I was stupid and blinded by love. From the audio, it sounds like he might have also hit her in the face during the exchange. Tallahassee Police said Francois and the woman gave varying accounts of the incident to officers, who said they could not establish probable cause for charges. He was cleared of involvement in January in a case in which he and his then-girlfriend got into a shouting match.

The Tallahassee Police Department closed the case without making an arrest because of "conflicting statements and no independent witnesses." It is unknown if this new alleged altercation is with the same woman.

He added that after Clinton's losses in the 1994 midterm elections, his State of the Union speeches were "much more conciliatory". And he will discuss military efforts around the world, stressing his interest in ending USA engagement in foreign wars.

Nagy's insight highlights the concerns that led to Francois being removed from the Seminoles football program.

There was speculation throughout the offseason about Francois' status at Florida State, including rumors he could pursue a graduate transfer. He arrived as a highly-rated four-star QB out of IMG Academy in 2015.

Francois appeared in 25 games over the last three seasons, including his redshirt freshman season in 2016 when he threw for 3,350 yards with 20 touchdowns and seven interceptions. Francois emerged as the team's starting quarterback in 2016, but missed nearly all of the 2017 season due to a knee injury. He went 5-6 as a starter in his first year starting for Taggart, passing for 2,731 yards and 15 touchdowns to 12 interceptions while completing 96 of 227 passes (57.3 percent). However, Blackman reportedly made a decision to stay with the program last month. He was set to be a senior for the Seminoles in 2019.
