Sixers’ Joel Embiid reacts to Kristaps Porzingis trade with Mavs, Knicks

Kristaps Porzingis has been traded to Dallas after three-plus seasons in NY, but per a report by ESPN's Tim MacMahon, the 7-foot-3 big man isn't expected to return to the court this season as he continues to recover from a torn ACL in his left knee. The same goes for Mathews who's contract will expire after this season.

Update: Knicks are sending Trey Burke to Dallas and are also getting two first round picks.

Second-year point guard Dennis Smith Jr.is the centerpiece of the package being sent to NY, sources said. They owe their own protected first-rounder to the Atlanta Hawks as part of the draft-night trade to acquire Luka Doncic.

The Athletic's Shams Charania reported that Porzingis plans to sign a qualifying offer from Dallas this offseason, meaning the Mavs will be able to match any offer he receives in free agency.

Porzingis met with members of the organization earlier in the day.

The Knicks did call New Orleans about Anthony Davis, but the Pelicans weren't interested in Porzingis.

India to bowl in first T20 against New Zealand
India's previous worst was a 49-run loss to Australia back in 2010. "We like to chase as a team", captain Rohit Sharma said. Watch the second Twenty20 worldwide between New Zealand and India from 5.55am, Friday on Sky Sports Cricket and Main Event.

He no doubt prefers that an increasing majority of the league's stars reside in the Western Conference, especially Porzingis, who it seemed would go toe-to-foe with Embiid at least four times per season as Philadelphia and NY battle it out in the Atlantic division for years to come.

The Knicks (10-40) have the worst record in the National Basketball Association and are already going to get a high pick in the entry draft.

He recently worked out with a coach on the court for roughly 45 minutes.

Since emerging as a promising rookie in 2015, Porzingis has been viewed as the future of the Knicks and foundation piece they can build around. While the team chalked up the six games missed being due to back soreness and an illness, Mavs coach Rick Carlisle later acknowledged that "business stuff" was behind the absence.

The most valuable player in the deal from the Knicks' standpoint is likely Smith, the point guard they passed on with the No. 8 pick in 2017 when they instead took Frank Ntilikina.
