Statue of Kevin Hart Holding Rainbow Flag Pops Up Near Oscars Venue

The artist erected a golden statue of comedian Kevin Hart not too far from the award show venue, waving a rainbow flag and standing on a base with the words "Hollow Apology" written across it.

Clearly meant to mimic the golden statue given out for awards, the art piece is a scathing rebuke of Hart's attempts at apologizing for his past words against the LGBTQ community.

Hart famously stepped down from hosting this year's Oscars amid backlash surrounding his homophobic history.

Plastic Jesus confirmed as much in a post on Instagram unveiling his latest creation along the Hollywood Boulevard on Thursday (February 21). Starting with Kevin Hart's loss of the gig to now certain artists backing out of performances, the awards ceremony seems to be facing more trouble than expected.

Kevin joked with buddies on Twitter about not wanting his son to be gay.

Barrick Gold confirms it is weighing up nil premium Newmont Mining merger
The transaction was disclosed in a filing with the Securities & Exchange Commission, which is accessible through this hyperlink . BARRICK Gold confirmed it had "reviewed the opportunity" of merging with Newmont Mining in an all-share nil premium transaction.

The artist expressed how the entertainment industry and its figures should display more awareness and solidarity, especially since "so much of the output in Hollywood is created by people in the LGBTQ community". "It took him some time to apologize". The golden statue was placed at the same intersection as "Hollow Apology", a couple blocks from the annual Oscars telecast.

Although he said that he wouldn't apologize again, Hart eventually tweeted out another one and still turned down the opportunity to be on the stage citing that he feels it would take away from what the show was really about. A Vulture investigation published on January 4 found several instances of Hart addressing the criticism he has received for the homophobic jokes throughout the years, but no clear apology until the moment he acknowledged he was "wrong" in making those jokes during his chat with DeGeneres.

Also previous year, Plastic Jesus and fellow street artist Joshua "Ginger" Monroe unveiled a life-size golden statue of Harvey Weinstein sitting on a sofa, the statue captioned "Casting Couch" in reference to the multiple allegations of sexual misconduct levelled against the Hollywood producer.

Hart's apology apparently wasn't enough for Plastic Jesus, who erected his statue on Hollywood Boulevard earlier this week.
