When Alexander Goldschmidt made a decision to propose to his boyfriend Ross Girard while listening "King Of My Heart", he would never have believed he would be able to get Taylor Swift to their engagement party to perform it.

Alex Goldschmidt, whose been a longtime Swift fan and friend of the singer's, took to Instagram on Saturday to share a snap of him and his fiance, Ross, beaming as they posed with Swift at Sycamore Tavern in Los Angeles.

Swift played an acoustic version of "King Of My Heart" from her latest album, Reputation.

Then in walks Taylor Swift, guitar in hand, as Girard and the guests gasped and celebrated. I never asked Taylor to do this.

Swift then entered from a back room as the guests cheered and she explained how Goldschmidt had reached out to her and told her about the couple's special song.

"She came, she sang, I'm dead", Goldschmidt wrote in a post sharing pictures of him and Girard with Swift.

Swift is preparing to appear in the film adaptation of the musical Cats. "I can't thank Taylor enough for wanting to help make this day so special".

"I'm surprised every single day", the 29-year-old pop star revealed to ET during a phone interview from London, England, after filming on Thursday.

"You are the one I have been waiting for, king of my heart, body and soul", Swift sang while the loved-up couple watched on, the song holding a special meaning for the pair.
