Additionally, Jennifer Lopez will take the stage for a Motown tribute, although some have criticized the decision to pick a non-black singer for the performance - especially during Black History Month - when artists like Ross, Stevie Wonder or Gladys Knight could have been chosen.

CNN has reached out to the Recording Academy for additional comment. It's a unusual decision considering Smokey Robinson, Diana Ross and Bruno Mars will all be in attendance for the event.

The Grammys has a bit of a tradition.

We earlier reported that pop sensation, Ariana Grande will not be attending or performing at the 2019 Grammy awards slated to hold on February 10 in Los Angeles. That isn't the case this year. A report from the New York Times details the Hip-Hop trio of Kendrick Lamar, Drake and Childish Gambino were all offered time on the GRAMMY stage but declined the opportunity.

Current nominees Chloe x Halle, Lady Gaga, Mark Ronson, and Travis Scott are set to perform on Music's Biggest Night.
